Chanel Spring 2010

Last week Catherine and I attended the Chanel Spring 2010 press day.

We viewed the fantasy barn-themed pieces and accessories from Chanel’s Spring 2010 collection.

The collection is an eclectic mix of natural fibres, bold prints, sculpted jewellery and deluxe sportswear. There is something for everyone.

The first thing on my Spring wishlist are the awesome Chanel retro specs. Taking notes from nature the sunglasses are bordered with golden wheat ears with tinted chocolate frames to match. They are an unique alternative to the Wayfarer or Aviator styles that have been worn to death through seasons previously offering something special for sunny days.

This harvest theme continued into the accessories with rough textures forming a new-look Chanel bag. Woven neutrals; caramels, mushroom, and ecru with tattered materials in layers gave the classic bag a rustic-chic twist.

An adaptation of the clog has been created this season, in both a modest and more daring height. The shoes have a child-like, playful feel. Like something from Hansel and Gretal. This idea was further portrayed through the barnyard runway show which saw models skipping, dancing and smiling throughout.

Chanel have created a number of pieces that would make the gym seem less hard work and more playful. I love the personalised tennis racket and grey logo tracksuit. With matching pieces to layer, in purple, white and black, this bunch are made for showing off in.
